| CDSP Online Courses for Academic Credit
CDSP offers one online graduate course for credit per semester. If you are not currently a student at CDSP or one of the other seminaries in the Graduate Theological Union, you must be admitted to CDSP as an online student to register for an online class. This requirement includes students at seminaries outside the GTU who wish to transfer credit to another school. To receive an application form as an online student, contact the CDSP admissions office.
Orientation to Online Learning
All students are required to participate in a mandatory Orientation to Online Learning offered online prior to the beginning of each course or to have completed it within the past year. Anyone who does not complete orientation will not be enrolled in the course. The orientation is available at http://moodle.gtu.edu/ and requires a User ID and Password, available from the registrar of your school. Completion of the orientation requires about three hours.
Computer literacy level: familiarity with word processing, search engines, internet browser, e-mail.
Computer hardware/software requirements: Pentium processor, 56k modem or DSL, internet account with e-mail access, Windows 98 OK, Windows XP recommended.

This course introduces students to the spiritual lives of St. Francis and St. Clare as these have influenced Christian spirituality from the Middle Ages to the current day. Special attention will be paid to characteristic symbols and practices of Franciscan spiritualities as these have functioned in Christian communities, highlighting the creative use of the Franciscan tradition as well as possible misuses. Enrollment Limit: 20.

This course is an interdisciplinary exploration of green studies" and its impact on Christian spirituality, theology, ethics, and pastoral life, especially in North America. In addition to an overview of contemporary works and issues in ecological theology, primary and secondary texts ranging from ecological classics to contemporary nature writers provide the "green" context for understanding how recent eco-theory and praxis present a challenge and opportunity for religious peoples and communities. Format: brief lectures and on-line discussion in a seminar format. Requirements: weekly post on readings, one presentation to post, 10-15 page final research paper.

The living out of faith in the in Anglican tradition is sustained by diverse spiritual resources drawn from scripture, early church prayer and liturgy, medieval spiritualities, the Book of Common Prayer, and contemporary adaptations of spiritual practices from throughout the global Anglican Communion and beyond. This course explores a range of such practices as they have developed historically, as they function as embodied theologies, and as they may function in Anglican communities today. Assignments will include weekly readings, discussion board reflections on weekly spiritual exercises, and a 10-12 final paper drawn from students' experience preparing for and leading a spiritual practice with a small group in their own worship community.

This introduction to the Old Testament will focus on the tools of basic exegesis. Students will be introduced to the use of biblical reference works available online. Class format will consist of weekly reading assignments and online discussion. Written assignments will include four exegetically based projects and a final exegesis paper.
