New Wine, Old Wineskins? Women and Leadership
Now that the Episcopal Church has a female Presiding Bishop and President of the House of Deputies, there is no doubt that the spectrum of leadership positions in the church includes women. What difference has this made to the nature and practice of ministry and leadership? Is the church still using old wineskins for this new wine? In this workshop we will explore these questions, drawing on our experiences as well as available data and analysis.

God Matters: Images of God and Ministry
How do our images of God shape the way we engage in ministry? What is the relationship between images of God and the exercise of power? And how does gender factor in? This workshop will address such questions by exploring several images of God, the differences among them and the implications for spirituality and ministry.

St. Margaret's Symposium
January 27-28, 2011
It's About Time: Women, History and Hope
Flora A. Keshgegian, Associate Professor of Pastoral Theology and Women in Ministry, has shaped a two-day symposium entitled It's About Time: Women, History and Hope. This event expands the traditional fall St. Margaret's lecture into an extended conversation about what women's experiences might offer for ministry and hope in the 21st century. Keshgegian’s lecture, entitled "Women's Time, Ordinary Time," will be presented on the first day. Patricia Hampl, author and professor at the University of Minnesota, will be a guest speaker and Jane Shaw, newly appointed dean of Grace Cathedral in San Francisco, will be a respondent and panelist.
The symposium will also include workshops, led by sociologist Paula Nesbitt and by faculty members, Dan Joslyn-Siematkoski and Ruth Meyers, and an evening of conversation with Dean/President, Mark Richardson. Emerita professor Rebecca Lyman will be the preacher at the Thursday Eucharist.
Register now and save $50! And check back for more detailed schedule and information.
CDSP will be taking a hiatus from our annual Epiphany West conference this year in order to offer the St. Margaret's Symposium. We are excited to offer this inspiring event while we take the year to consider how we might reshape Epiphany West in the future. Please watch for opportunities to give us your views and opinions about Epiphany West and we look forward to seeing you January 27-28, 2011 for the St. Margaret's Symposium.
